COPPERAS COVE, Texas (KWTX) Copperas Cove voters Saturday elected former Mayor Bradi Diaz to succeed the city’s incumbent mayor, Frank Seffrood, who died in late December, just more than two weeks after winning a second term in a runoff election on Dec. 11.

Diaz was elected to the Cove City Council in 2000 and then as mayor in 200

She claimed almost 63 percent of the vote in Saturday’s special election, easily defeating Ron Nelson, Joey Acfalle and Brandi Weiand.

Just 755 of the city’s registered voters cast ballots in the special election, a turnout of just less than 4 percent.
