COPPERAS COVE, Texas (KWTX) The Copperas Cove library is hosting a Winter Fest Academy aimed at getting youngsters interested in science, technology, engineering and math.

The staff is using educational toys to show participants how to create circuits and robots they can control with a tablet and how to use a 3-D printer.

The holiday program is designed for young people from 1 to 18.

Kevin Marsh director of the library says they want the young people to get a feel for new technologies and be able to create something unique.

“They'll think of things we never thought of to use these Technologies to do and the sooner they get started and realize what they can do, they'll create something, we never knew they could do,” Marsh said.

This is the first year the library has hosted the Winter Fest Academy and Marsh hopes to do it again next year.

The academy runs until this Friday.
