COPPERAS COVE, Texas (KWTX) A Copperas Cove homeless shelter that received a windfall from a local diaper manufacturer that’s shutting down gave away more than 60,000 infant diapers and another 7,500 adult diapers Friday.

“This is one of our opportunities to show that we care about our whole community not just the homeless community,” Brian Hawkins, with Cove House, said.

The Cove House in Copperas Cove has been in operation since 1995, serving as a homeless shelter, free clinic and transitional housing facility.

The nonprofit got a call Thursday about the chance to pick up free diapers.

Domtar a local diaper manufacturer, which is closing its doors, said they had extra diapers it was ready to donate.

All the nonprofit had to do was bring a truck by to pick it up.
