COPPERAS COVE, Texas (KWTX) Bethesda Fellowship members and delivered food meal boxes Monday afternoon to 600 families in Copperas Cove and Killeen.
“This is really great, I'm really thankful for something like this,” Copperas Cove resident Veronica Barker said.
Since 2007, Bethesda Fellowship ministries has packed meals to feed families such as Barker’s.
“This really touched my heart, thank you,” Barker said.
Dozens of cars, trucks and U-Hauls went from street to street to help deliver and distribute.
“We have identified areas where we think people could use a little bit of help,” Bethesda Fellowship Ministries Bishop R. Ray Gatewood.
Gatewood says this is their largest distribution yet.
“We look forward to it every year now. It is part of our DNA. We look forward to helping,” Gatewood said.
Students from Copperas Cove, Ellison and Shoemaker high schools volunteered to distribute the meals.
“We are going around spreading some holiday cheer today for Thanksgiving for those families who might not be as fortunate as us,” Ellison High School student Aylelia Mose said.
Before Christmas, the group will come together again to distribute meal boxes.
