MARLIN, Texas (KWTX) Falls County sheriff’s deputies rescued two stranded boaters Thursday afternoon from the rain-swollen Brazos River.

Deputies responded just after 3:15 p.m. after receiving a call about the unnamed boaters whose boat was stuck in the strong current in Falls on the Brazos Park off FM 712, Falls County Sheriff Ricky Scaman said.

The men, who were in a boat with a four-horsepower motor, were rescued about a mile downstream from the park, he said.

The rescue took about 30 minutes.

The boaters escaped serious injury, Scaman said.
