BRUCEVILLE-EDDY, Texas (KWTX) McLennan County deputies Tuesday tracked down a Central Texas man who failed to show up for court on an assault family violence/strangulation charge.

Matthew Lane, 35, was captured early Tuesday evening in a field in the Bruceville-Eddy area.

Deputies went to his home Monday in the 200 block of Hungry Hill Road in Bruceville-Eddy after he failed to show up for court, but he ran out the back door and into a field, where he cut off his court-ordered ankle monitor, McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara said.

Deputies returned Tuesday and he ran again, McNamara said.

Deputies searched on horseback and from the air and with the help of Texas Department of Criminal Justice bloodhounds found him early Tuesday evening in a field just across the Falls County line, McNamara said.
