House fire displaces local family of 5

TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) A house fire Monday afternoon in Temple displaced three adults and two children.

The fire was reported at around 3:25 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of North 15th Street.

Smoke was coming from the front door and flames were visible on the side of the one-story home when the first crews arrived.

The residents escaped safely.

The blaze left the side of the house with fire damage and the remainder with smoke and water damage.

A damage estimate is pending.

Investigators determined the fire started in a bedroom and was unintentional.

The American Red Cross was assisting the residents Monday evening.
