TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) Two men were displaced by a house fire in a local neighborhood that started in a front corner room.
Two Temple men displaced by a house fire Monday are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
One of the men returned home just after 8 a.m. Monday and discovered the fire in the house at 719 West Munroe Ave.
He awakened his sleeping brother and both escaped safely.
Investigators determined the fire started accidentally in the front corner room, but the cause has not been determined.
The home had smoke alarms, but it’s not clear if they were functional, officials said.
The home was damaged by fire and smoke.
A dollar estimate of damages isn’t yet available.
