Fort Hood: Post sends troops, equipment to border

FORT HOOD, Texas (KWTX) Fort Hood is sending additional troops, equipment and resources to the border.

The soldiers will provide “a range of support including military police, engineering capability (to construct) temporary barriers, barricades, and fencing, and logistics support,” spokesman Col. Myles B. Caggins said in a brief statement.

“We have a couple hundred troops involved in this mission,” he said.

The Pentagon announced Wednesday it is moving some military personnel from Arizona to the Eagle Pass area in anticipation of the arrival of another migrant caravan and deploying others from Kansas.
