FORT HOOD, Texas (KWTX) Educators, business owners and nonprofit organization directors from around the state were on post Tuesday for a firsthand look at a day in the life of a soldier.

They all have worked with Fort Hood officials from recruiting new soldiers to helping transition soldiers out of the military and into the workforce.

“To be able to be an academic advisor to students as well as parent if they are looking to make the decision if this is the best thing for them,” Duncanville ISD Director of College and Career Readiness Shalontae Payne said.

This is the first time several different entities have taken part of the event at once.
