The 1stArmored Brigade combat team held a spouse spur ride on Saturday afternoon.
The spouses and their children got to see what it’s like to be a soldier for a day.
“I give them 100 percent credit,” said Olivia McBride. “It just makes me appreciate them that much more after seeing their day-to-day tasks and day-to-day activities.”
The soldiers showed their wives and children a tank simulator, let them train in basic warrior tasks, and let them run an obstacle course.
A BBQ lunch was held afterward as the participants were given special spurs and lapel pens commemorating their completion of the course.
