Fort Hood: Soldier dies in training accident in South Korea

FORT HOOD, Texas (KWTX) Fort Hood Spc. Nicholas C. Panipinto, 20, of Bradenton, Fla., was killed and two other soldiers were injured after a Bradley Fighting Vehicle overturned during training last week in South Korea, Stars and Stripes reported Tuesday.

Panipinto was assigned to Fort Hood’s 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, the newspaper reported.

The unit deployed to South Korea in July.

Five soldiers were in the vehicle when it overturned.

They were taken to a nearby South Korean hospital, the newspaper reported.

Panipinto died.

Two had non-life-threatening injuries, the newspaper reported.

Two others were checked out as a precautionary measure.

The accident is under investigation, the Army said.
