KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) Bishop Nathaniel Holcomb, who started a Bible study in January 1980 after arriving for duty at Fort Hood that grew from 13 people into what is today The Christian House of Prayer Ministries, one of the largest ministries in Central Texas, died Tuesday.
He was 66.
Visitation is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec. 5 at the Christian House of Prayer at 3300 East Stan Schlueter Loop in Killeen.
The funeral service is at 11 a.m. Dec. 6 at the church.
Holcomb was born and reared in Philadelphia.
In 1976, he and his family moved to Los Angeles.
Holcomb, who once had a recording contract with Motown Records, later joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Jackson, S.C., before he was assigned to Fort Hood.
