SAN ANTONIO, Texas (KWTX) H-E-B is set to release a second-edition bag featuring the late Texas Cumbia star Selena.
The reusable bags go on sale starting at 6 a.m. or when stores open on Dec. 6.
The bags may also be purchased online beginning on Dec. 6, but aren’t available at Central Market stores, through HEB-com or through H-E-B curbside and home delivery.
The bags cost $2 each and there’s a limit of two bags per customer.
“With a new design, the tote with purple handle features color photos of the pop star alongside the word “Siempre” (Always) and her signature. Each side also showcases thoughtful quotes from the Grammy award-winning Latin recording artist,” H-E-B said in a press release Thursday.
Through Sunday, Texas residents 18 and older may enter an online sweepstakes for a chance to win a bag and five grand prize winners will receive not only bags, but also $500 H-E-B gift cards.
Contestants must have active Facebook accounts.
The first-edition bags were rolled out in March and they promptly sold out.
The rising star was shot to death in 1995 in Corpus Christi.
Yolanda Saldivar, a former friend and business associate, was convicted in the deadly shooting and is serving a life term in a state prison unit in Gatesville.
H-E-B partnered with Selena's sister Suzette Quintanilla to create the tote, featuring images of Selena and "Queen of Cumbia" in pink letters.
