Due to the spread of the Coronavirus, the Library closed its doors to keep employees and citizens safe.

The library has also been sharing videos of proper hand-washing on Facebook. Director Lisa Youngblood says this is the perfect opportunity to encourage families to read and keep good hygiene.

"We just want to encourage people to give us a call and we wanna keep you reading," she said.

"Teaching reading and proper hygiene in a fun way is a big goal for us."

The library drive thru is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m on Saturdays and 12 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

A virtual library is also being offered at www.ci.harker-heights.tx.us/virtuallibrary.

Anyone interested in getting a library card to checkout books can contact the library at (254)-953-5491 or (254)-953-5497 or email at refernce@harkerheights.gov.
