Head of successful veterans program stepping down

WACO, Texas (KWTX) The director of the Veterans One Stop in Waco is stepping down from the post.

DeLisa Russell stepping down as director of Veterans One Stop.

DeLisa Russell joined the organization three years ago.

The One Stop provides a multitude of services to veterans and their families including counseling, career assistance, legal help, food, help with VA claims and more.

Under her leadership it's gone from providing 1,200 individual services to people each year to 24,000.

There's a gym, kitchen, shower and place for people to do laundry.

Heart of Texas MHMR which operates the One Stop says there will be no disruption in services and the search will soon begin for someone to fill the post.
