Authorities identify drivers killed in head-on Central Texas crash

FALLS COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) Authorities Monday identified two women who died in a head-on crash Sunday in Falls County that left two teenagers injured as Penny Ojeda, 59, of Wichita Falls and Abbie Hutton, 27, of Palestine.

The crash happened at around 6 p.m. Sunday on State Highway 7 near CR 499A east of Bruceville-Eddy.

Ojeda was driving a Chevrolet west on the highway when she attempted to pass another vehicle and her vehicle crashed into an eastbound Ford SUV that Hutton was driving, Department of Public Safety Sgt. Ryan Howard said.

The Ford overturned in the crash.

Hutton died at the scene.

Ojeda was taken to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple where she was pronounced dead.

Two teenage passengers in the Ford were transported to the hospital to with what authorities said were non-life-threatening injuries.
