HEIDENHEIMER, Texas (KWTX) Authorities identified the second victim of a deadly head-on crash Monday afternoon on U.S. Highway 190 between Heidenheimer and Rogers in rural Bell County as Patricia Nellums, 51, of Copperas Cove.

An eastbound Kia passenger car crossed the center-line and collided head-on with the westbound Chevrolet SUV that Nellums was driving at around 2:10 p.m. Monday, authorities said.

She and the driver of the Kia, whom authorities identified earlier as Alicea Shafer, 48, of Rogers, died at the scene.

A passenger in the SUV was taken to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple in critical condition.

The highway was closed in the area of the crash between Pritchard Road and Five Wells Road and was expected to remain closed for several hours.
