Hit-and-run sends critically-injured bicyclist to local hospital

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) Police were looking for a hit-and-run driver Monday after a hit-and-run accident over the weekend that left a bicycle rider in critical condition.

The accident was reported just before 11 p.m. Saturday in the 1600 block of Becker Drive in Killeen, police said Monday.

When officers arrived they found the unidentified rider lying in the road.

He was airlifted to Scott & White Medical in Temple with life-threatening injuries.

The bicyclist was riding north on Becker Drive, pulling a bicycle trailer, when the dark colored SUV struck him, police said.

No further details were provided.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (254) 526-TIPS.
