BELTON, Texas (KWTX) Bell County deputies arrested a man and a teenage boy after shots were fired early Wednesday morning into two homes in the 5900 block of Sophie Lane and the 3700 block of Canyon Heights Drive in Belton and authorities say the two may also be linked to a third drive-by shooting earlier in the evening in Belton.

While deputies were investigating early Wednesday, they heard gunfire along FM 439 near the two homes, located a vehicle and attempted to stop it.

The driver, however, sped off with deputies in pursuit.

After a brief chase, the driver stopped, the man and the teen were detained and a weapon was recovered.

Christopher Alan Nelson, 33, of Belton, was in the Bell County Jail Thursday.

His bond had not been set Thursday morning.

The unidentified teenager was taken to the Bell County Juvenile Detention Center.
