KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) The Single Moms Society of Central Texas and Movement of Faith Ministries held a special extravaganza event on Saturday afternoon in Killeen.

The event was a chance for a single mothers in the area to catch a well-deserved break from the day-to-day struggles of parenthood to relax and socialize.

Alesia Williams, a single mother of two children and founder of the Single Moms Society, says that this was her chance to reach out to other single mothers to lend a helping hand.

“I know what it’s like this time of year to be forgotten or feel forgotten,” she said.

“Almost each and every holiday, it’s just me and my kids. So, I thought what a great idea to be able to tell other moms that they’re not alone.”

They weren’t alone. The mothers were given a free meal, special prizes, back massages, got their nails polished, and even heard a special message at the end.

The children were taken to a separate area to play games, eat sweets and be creative with arts and crafts.

Over 200 toys were also raised by the church and the local community so that the families could have a good Christmas.
