(KWTX) KWTX Tuesday announced the the promotion of veteran KWTX Meteorologist Sean Bellafiore to the position of weekday morning and noon meteorologist effective July 15.
“Sean is already a seasoned member of the most trusted severe weather team in Central Texas. He’s experienced in forecasting and tracking storms whether it be on air, on social media or out in our Weather Edge storm chasing unit, said KWTX News Director Bob Walters.
Sean, who’s been a familiar face on KWTX since 2015, joins Pete Sousa and Tiana Maya on KWTX News 10 This Morning and Julie Hays on Midday with Julie.
“Central Texans have welcomed me into their homes during the day and at night for the past four years and I'm excited to now start the day with them each weekday,” Bellafiore said.
“Meteorology has been a life-long passion of mine and I'm very excited to share that passion, and of course the daily weather forecast too, with Central Texans each morning,” said Bellafiore.
Sean graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in telecommunication and a Meteorology and Climatology Certificate and then earned a master’s degree from Mississippi State University in geoscience/applied meteorology, graduating with a 4.0 GPA.
“Sean is a very talented meteorologist, and his severe weather expertise has served as a valuable asset to keep Central Texans safe during storms,” said KWTX Chief Meteorologist Brady Taylor.
“Sean’s personality will fit great on News 10 This Morning, delivering a quality forecast and getting our viewers out the door every morning with a smile,” said Taylor.
During his free time, Sean enjoys storm chasing, traveling and cooking.
