KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) A Copperas Cove man arrested after a standoff on April 16 at a home in Killeen that started when he pointed a handgun at officers responding to a disturbance and ended after he climbed down from the roof of the residence was named in an indictment charging two counts of aggravated assault against a public servant.
Trenton Xavier Manns, 25, is held in the Bell County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $200,000.
He was arrested after a standoff that started after officers responded at around 3 p.m. on April 16 to a report of the disturbance in the 2200 block of Lazy Ridge Drive.
"A male was throwing objects at moving vehicles. When the officer arrived at the scene, the subject was in the house at the time, came out and brandished what the officers believed to be a firearm towards them," police Commander Ronnie Supak said.
The Killeen Police Department’s SWAT Team was called in and at one point two drones could be seen flying over the home.
"He was telling officers he was not going to come out and we were going to stay there all night long," Supak said.
The standoff ended just after 6 p.m. when the man climbed down from the roof into the backyard.
Officers deployed flash-bangs, and then took him into custody.
Police recovered a handgun and found a shell casing in the front yard of the home.
