KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) Killeen officers will board Killeen ISD buses in an effort to crack down on motorists who fail to stop as students are picked up and dropped off.

The operation begins Wednesday from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. in the northeast part of the city.

Officers aboard buses will notify other officers in patrol units in the area when they spot violators.

“Citizens are encouraged to comply with all laws, and asked to pay particular attention to their surroundings while operating a vehicle in proximity to a school bus,” police spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez said Monday.
