Killeen: Balloon release held for man killed after argument

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) After the fatal shooting of Luis Angel Santiago, family and friends held a balloon release in his memory Wednesday.

Santiago, 28, was gunned down late Tuesday in the 1900 block of Fleetwood Drive.

According to Killeen police, the fatal shooting happened after an argument. Multiple rounds were fired out of a vehicle, hitting Santiago.

As friends arrived to the same neighborhood nearly 24 hours later, tears were seen and memories shared.

Santiago's brother talked about the shooting.

"He was just cleaning his car and look what happened...for nothing. Just a little argument. They couldn't go about their business, they couldn't just leave him alone? Why they have to do it? Now, my family and me are suffering," he said.

As of Wednesday night, no arrests have been made. Police are still looking for more than one suspect.

"We are trying our best to partner with neighborhoods to reduce crime and we have these knuckleheads, these cowards out here using guns to solve their individual problems," Chief Charles Kimble said Tuesday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Killeen Police Department or Crime Stoppers at (254) 526-8477.
