KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) Over 400 people were fed as Henderson’s Family Restaurant and LifeWay Fellowship hosted a free Christmas dinner on Wednesday.

“I see the line out there, and it just makes me happy,” said Henderson's General Manager April McHenry.

“We can help other people. It’s not the point of them being homeless, it’s that we can help other people during Christmas time. We’ll take anybody in.”

The event wasn’t just all about the food, either. Everyone who came by left with a bag full of blankets, warm clothes, and even toothbrushes. Even the children were given a bag of toys so that they had a present this year.

“I’m thankful because I didn’t really get much for Christmas and they helped me,” said D'niya Montgomery.

Many were thankful, including Christopher Sanchez, a man who didn’t have a place to go this Christmas.

“It’s a Christmas dinner that I wasn’t going to have,” he said.

“This means a lot and I’ll always cherish this.”
