Killeen: High school seniors graduate with associate's degree

BELTON, Texas (KWTX) With weeks to go until Killeen ISD has its own commencement ceremony, more than 100 seniors walked across the stage Friday night to complete another achievement: getting their college degree.

In total, 166 seniors from Killeen ISD's Early College High School received their associate degree from Central Texas College. The graduation ceremony was held at the Bell County Expo Center.

Out of the 12 honor students, five also came from the high school -- each with a 4.0 GPA.

The commencement speaker was Superintendent Dr. John Craft. He talked to the crowd about being courageous, a hard worker and team player.

The district says students have been accepted to colleges and universities across the country, including Columbia, Cornell, Stanford and Texas schools.
