KILLEEN, Texas A Killeen teacher received an early and heartwarming Christmas gift Friday afternoon.
Karen Wall, a mother of two boys with special needs, was searching for help in fixing her Toyota minivan. The repairs she needed were piling up and with the loss of her husband months ago and medical bills, she didn't have the money.
Then came Eurotech Car Care. The repair shop, located on Florence Road, held a free car repair giveaway. Her co-worker nominated her for the contest and the rest was history.
"I always wondered if I was going to make it and if I didn't what I was going to do. Having this peace of mind and knowing that people in this community nominated me, then doing this drawing, that's what communities are about,” Wall said.
After the repairs were added up, the total cost was over $6,000 to fix the van. Her van was picked up last week at Audie Murphy Middle School by Eurotech Car Care and put back in tip-top shape.
On a normal day, Wall commutes to Fort Hood daily from Morgans Point.
Wall also says that she prayed for things to get better in her life. She says her co-worker and the employees at Eurotech Car Care are her angels.
