Liberty Hill Middle School held a special food drive on Friday, collecting canned foods for families in need this holiday season.

Students who donated at least two cans of food got bracelets that allowed them to attend a volleyball game where the teachers played against the students.

Students who donated 10 cans got to participate in the game.

The event was a huge success.

More than 900 cans were donated. PE coach and event coordinator Kylie Ray says she was proud that the students and faculty didn’t hold back with their donations.

“To know that they’re willing to give back to other people is awesome to just keep paying that forward,” she said.

“They all get really excited to bring in the cans with the incentive.”
