Killeen: New fire alarm approved for middle school with faulty system

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) Killeen ISD school board members voted Tuesday night to install a new fire alarm at Live Oak Ridge Middle School.

The new fire alarm will replace a 16-year-old system at the middle school.

Officials say the current system has triggered multiple false alarms and the fire alarm strobes are not in sync, which could cause seizures.

The project will cost $170,000, but will be paid for by the district's Capital Improvement Project budget.
