Bond set at $100,000 for suspect in robbery of local motel

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) Bond is set at $100,000 for a suspect in the armed robbery of a local motel.

Raymond Armondo James, 34, was arrested less than an hour after the holdup was reported.

Officers responded at around 10:45 p.m. last Wednesday after receiving a report of the robbery at the La Quinta Inn at 1112 South Fort Hood St.

The clerk told them that a man entered the lobby, displayed a weapon and demanded money.

The robber fled to the north with an undisclosed amount of cash, but he wasn’t on the run for long.

Officers spotted him at around 11:20 p.m. in the area of Hallmark Avenue.

James was arrested without incident.

He’s charged with aggravated robbery.
