Killeen: Wreaths placed on grave sites of vets at cemetery

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) More than 200 wreaths were placed on grave sites of fallen veterans Saturday at the Killeen Cemetery.

Organizers with the Heart of Texas Bass Anglers Club held a ceremony to honor the close to 1,700 veterans at the cemetery on East Rancier Avenue.

This is the second year the group has placed wreaths on grave sites. They were also able to help from Wreaths Across America and donations from the community.

“I served in Vietnam twice and this is out of respect. It’s respect for people who have given their all. We have to give them honor," said Terry Sateren, the current vice-president.

Sateren said the goal for next year is to place a wreath on each grave site of veterans at the cemetery.
