Once a week, Terri Logsdon, a Friends of Lampasas Animal Shelter volunteer, takes Miracle to visit residents at the Regal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where residents such as Elizabeth Harrington interact with the four-legged therapist.

Harrington credits Miracle for helping her with her depression.

“Looking at Miracle made me want to fight because she could walk and she was happy and she could go around seeing people and seeing everybody,” Harrington said.

“She brings a lot of joy to the people that are here and I hope they appreciate her as much as I do. If they can just look into her eyes they would see the love that she has,” Harrington said.

Logsdon says Miracle’s journey from the shelter to the nursing facility was long and difficult.

“She came into the shelter and she barely had any hair and had open sores she was nothing but a skeleton. I started spending time with her and realized what a good dog she was and what a good soul she had” Logsdon said.

Logsdon also runs the Lampasas Community Cats organization and plans to take one of her rescued cats to the center soon.
