BRUCEVILLE-EDDY, Texas (KWTX) Authorities Friday identified the McLennan County employee who died Wednesday when the gravel truck he was driving overturned on a rural road as Christopher Hammer, 36 of Mart.

The Western Star dump truck was eastbound on Woodlawn Road northeast of Bruceville-Eddy when it failed to negotiate a sharp curve just less than a mile west of Davis Road.

Hammer, who was wearing a seat belt, died at the scene, authorities said.

The Department of Public Safety received a report of the accident at around 11 a.m., but investigators aren’t sure exactly when it happened because traffic on the road is light.
