Local high school student charged after violent threat

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) A 17-year-old Gateway High School student who was charged after a threat of violence was made against students and staff remained in jail Thursday.

Deandre Jamel Finister, of Harker Heights, is charged with criminal trespass and terroristic threat, according to online jail records.

His bonds total $4,000.

The 11th grade student was arrested in connection with a threat that was made toward the end of the day on Tuesday at the alternative school, Killeen ISD spokesman Terry Abbott said.
