GATESVILLE, Texas (KWTX) Coryell County Chief Deputy Sheriff Mark Wilcox was on administrative leave Thursday while authorities investigate unspecified allegations involving what Sheriff Scott Williams described only as “personnel issues.”

“That’s all we can share with you right now,” Williams said.

Williams said Thursday he doesn’t have the whole story yet.

“I swore before God and family to do what’s right for the people I represent, good, bad or indifferent,” Williams said.

Wilcox has been with the Coryell County Sheriff’s Office since December 1997 after serving as a police officer for 10 years in Clifton.

He’s a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a 2007 Criminal Justice graduate of Hill College in Hillsboro.
