Gatesville: Deployed soldier's apartment burglarized

GATESVILLE, Texas (KWTX) A U.S. Army soldier is missing thousands of dollars worth of gear after his apartment in Gatesville was burglarized while he was serving overseas.

The burglary occurred in 1000 block of E. Leon St. sometime between Oct. 27, 2018 and Jan. 29, 2019 while the soldier was deployed.

According to Gatesville police, someone broke into his apartment and stole more than $4,000 worth of items including Army personal protective gear (TA50), specifically a green stab vest, an ACU camouflage ballistic vest with front, back and side plates, and a ballistic helmet.

In addition, a Katana sword/knife set and a weight bench were taken, police said.
