WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) Williamson County sheriff’s deputies say students acted prudently when reporting a classmate who brought a BB gun to school Monday.

The deputies responded to Deerpark Middle School after being notified of a student having a firearm, the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post.

"The student was located in possession of an airsoft BB gun," the post says.

"The student did not make any threats and did not display the BB gun in a threatening manner. No threat to the school."

Regardless of the incident, deputies are still asking parents to remind their children that if they see something, they need to say something.
