HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas (KWTX) Bond is set at $100,000 for a Harker Heights man accused of grabbing a gun, loading it and placing the barrel between the eyes of his pregnant girlfriend because a baby shower ran late.

Raymond Allen Strange, 42, of Harker Heights is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

He remained in the Bell County Jail Tuesday.

Officers arrested Strange after responding Sunday night to a report of a man with a gun at a home in the 1800 block of McGinnis Court.

The man and woman had agreed that the baby shower would end by 7 p.m. Sunday, but when he returned home sometime after 7:30 p.m. the party was still underway, police said.

“The female of the house met the man of the house in a separate room from the party and apologized for the party still going on,” police said in a press release Monday.

“The male of the house stated everyone had to leave, and then grabbed a handgun, locked and loaded it, and pointed it at the female of the house head, placing the barrel against her head touching her skin between the eyes,” police said Monday.

Strange was initially held at the Harker Heights Police Department, but was booked into the Bell County Jail Monday night.
