WACO, Texas (KWTX) Longtime KXXV Channel 25 news anchor Ann Harder is retiring effective Feb. 28, the station announced Thursday.

“I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to serve our viewers. It’s been my honor to be invited into their homes here in Central Texas. The privilege of bringing them news and information has been a tremendous joy in my life,” Harder said in a press release.

Harder joined KXXV in 1996 after years as an award-winning radio news journalist with WACO AM/FM.

She anchored KXXV newscasts at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. and, beginning in 1999, at 5 p.m.

She’s now the anchor of the station’s 11 a.m. newscast and co-anchor of newscasts at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.

"While I’m retiring from daily news anchoring, I plan to continue telling the stories of interesting Central Texans and happenings in the area on digital platforms,” she said.
