BELTON, Texas (KWTX) Stephen Jerome Roder, 26, of Belton, who’s accused of raping a Central Texas schoolgirl who later told a friend she might be pregnant was named in an indictment Wednesday charging aggravated sexual assault.

Roder remains in the Bell County Jail Monday, where he’s held in lieu of $200,000 bond.

He was arrested in July following an investigation that started in mid-May after a Lake Belton Middle School student told a friend she might be pregnant, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

The friend told a school counselor, who called police, the affidavit says.

During a forensic interview at the Children’s Advocacy Center, the 13-year-old girl said a man she identified as Roder raped her and performed oral sex on her on two separate occasions in May, at his house and at her home, the affidavit says.

In a written statement, Roder confessed to the sexual assault, the affidavit says.
