Man flown to local hospital in critical condition after hit-and-run

Man flown to local hospital in critical condition after he was struck by a driver that fled the scene.

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) A man who was struck by a car whose driver didn’t stop early Wednesday in Killeen was flown to a local hospital in critical condition, police said Wednesday.

The hit-and-run was reported just after midnight Wednesday in the 2800 block of OW Curry Drive near The Arbors of Killeen, police said.

The victim who was walking north on the west side of OW Curry was struck by a southbound vehicle as he attempted to cross the east side of the road, police said.

First responders found the unidentified victim lying in the road.

He was flown to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.

The driver of the vehicle didn’t stop and fled toward Bacon Ranch Road, police said.

Police believe that the suspect vehicle is a 2006-2014 Chevrolet Impala.
