BARTLETT, Texas (KWTX) A man wanted in connection with a shooting that left one man dead and another injured, was arrested Monday in Central Texas after a brief law enforcement chase.

Nathan Gruensteiner, 20, was held Monday in the Williamson County Jail, but online records did not indicate a bond amount.

Medina County deputies found the two victims after they were dispatched Sunday to a shooting in the 100 block of County Road 668 in Devine, the sheriff’s office said.

One victim, Noah Hoover, 20, was airlifted to a hospital in San Antonio, but later died.

The other victim, Jess Hoover, 34, was expected to survive.

Investigators identified Gruensteiner as a suspect and learned that he would be traveling between Bastrop and Austin.

On Monday morning, Williamson County Deputies and Texas Highway Patrol caught up with him and attempted to pull him over.

Gruensteiner did not stop and led authorities on a chase that began near State Highways 95 and 29 and ended in Bartlett.

Both Gruensteiner and his 16-year-old girlfriend were arrested.

Authorities in Medina County did not say what led up to the shooting Sunday.
