CEDAR PARK, Texas (KWTX) Lee Alan Woodward, 21, and Alexis Joan Basques, 21, remained in the Williamson County Jail Monday charged with injury to a child after an infant was taken to a hospital with a list of injuries including multiple hemorrhages and bleeding in the brain, seizures, strokes, retinal hemorrhage in both eyes, and multiple bruising injuries in the chest, abdomen, hip and tongue, Cedar Park police said Monday.

The two were arrested on Friday after an investigation that started when the 7-week-old was taken by ambulance to Dell Children’s Hospital on July 6.

“Through our investigation, we believe statements made by the infant’s parents are inconsistent with the injuries observed on the child,” police said in a press release Monday.

Woodward is charged with injury to a child causing serious bodily injury and is also held on two misdemeanor traffic violations.

His bonds total more than $150,000.

Basques is charged with injury to a child by omission.

Her bond was set at $50,000.
