MCGREGOR, Texas (KWTX) Mike Singletary, the Baylor and Chicago Bear legend and NFL Hall of Famer, was the guest speaker for a silent auction held by the Rhett Revolution in McGregor on Saturday evening.
The auction was dedicated to the Rhett Revolution Foundation and Rhett Hering, who lost his life in an ATV accident back in 2015. All of the proceeds went towards the foundation to help aide young adults Central Texas.
“The more I learned about the young man before coming here, it’s just like wow, this was a great kid,” Singletary said.
The foundation was formed shortly after Rhett’s death, setting the goal to spread love and kinds through acts of love and support, just like he did during his life.
In a speech, Singletary emphasized that the Rhett Revolution is only beginning, and that the people of Central Texas will decide how it much it will continue to grow.
“I never met him, but I know what he believes,” he said.
“He was a difference maker. In this life, we don’t have many people that believe. We’re seeing more problems than opportunity. Do you believe enough to change it?”
