Killeen: Older brother of teen who threatened to shoot up schools charged

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) Cameron Lavonta Garner-Brown, 18, the older brother of a 14-year-old Killeen middle school student who threatened to shoot up three local high schools was charged Friday with terroristic threat.

Garner-Brown was ordered held in lieu of $100,000.

The threat of violence against Ellison, Killeen and Shoemaker high schools appeared on social media at around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, the source of the post was identified with the help of social media providers, and the unidentified student and Garner-Brown were arrested around 10:30 p.m.

The younger boy’s threat to shoot up three local high schools “could have been carried out,” Killeen Police Chief Charles Kimble said during a news conference Thursday afternoon.
