Missing man’s car found abandoned in Central Texas

TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) A car belonging to a Slaton man who was named in a Silver Alert has been found in Central Texas, but the man remains missing.

Family members reported Celestino Rodriguez, 79, missing on Saturday.

A Silver Alert was issued Wednesday.

Rodriguez was last seen at around 11 a.m. Saturday at his home in Slaton.

A Milam County Deputy found his abandoned white 2014 white Chrysler 200 at around 5 p.m. Wednesday in Temple.

The Silver Alert was canceled just before 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Police are now treating the disappearance as a missing person case.

Rodriguez is 5-foot-7, weighs about 155 pounds and was last seen wearing a tan polo shirt, jeans and tan slip-on Sketchers.

He's an insulin-dependent diabetic, according to the Silver Alert.
