TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) A spokeswoman for the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System says a building at the Olin E. Teague campus in Temple has been closed because of mold concerns.

It was first closed on Jan. 18 after tests came back positive for above average mold levels.

Deb Meyer said Building 146 was constructed during the World War II era and handled mental health outpatient visits and housed a recreation program.

Twenty-six staff members also reported to that building each day.

On the same day the issue was discovered, all staff and programs were moved to other locations and local VA officials reported the issue to OSHA.

At this point a state certified third party is conducting additional tests to evaluate the level of the problem and decide on a course of action.

Meyer says until that information is available there is no way to tell how long it will take before the building is re-opened.
