MOODY, Texas (KWTX) A Moody man who was found guilty of forcing his four daughters to live in intolerable conditions at the family home has been sentenced to serve eight years in state prison.

Judge Matt Johnson, in 54th District Court, sentenced Ryan David Niswonger, 38, on the 13-count indictment, which also included an assault against his wife and four counts of injury to a child.

His wife, Daniella Niswonger, 41, pleaded guilty to four counts of injury to a child on May 29 and was sentenced to 10 years on deferred probation, court records show.

Moody police arrested Niswonger and his wife in September 2018 after and Child Protective Services officials investigated their home in the 300 block of Fort Street.

Police reported at the time the girls, ages 14, 8, 6 and 4, had suffered injury from prolonged exposure to lice and bed bugs.

The girls had not been enrolled in school since 2017, police said.
