During a press conference Friday afternoon in Waco, representatives of the U.S. Marshals Service, Waco police, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Texas Department of Public Safety and the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office detailed the operation.

Law enforcement officers who participated in “Operation Washout” arrested 119 criminals between Sept. 30 and Friday.

Among the arrested are people accused dealing drugs, murders and other felonies.

Authorities said 24 are known gang members.

“This operation is the epitome of leveraging resources from multiple agencies to have an effect on the community in which we all live work and play as safer place,” Waco police Chief Ryan Holt said.

Holt also said it was too early to determine the number of firearms confiscated but he said “impressive.”
